Calculate your organisation's Carbon footprint

Climate change is increasingly recognised as a major challenge, and it is widely accepted that the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions caused by humans are having a negative impact on the environment.

The total set of GHG emissions caused directly and indirectly by an individual, organisation, event or
product is commonly called their ‘carbon footprint’. Calculating the carbon footprint of an
organisation can be the first step in a programme to reduce the emissions it causes.

We have developed the online calculator to help your organisation calculate its carbon footprint, and the basic footprint indicator provides a rough estimate of your organisation's carbon emissions based on your company's energy bill and sector.

All calculations are based on the 2007 emissions factors published by Defra for company reporting.

The basic indicator will provide
an estimated footprint based on
your energy bill and sector.
