Loans Continuous Improvement Review Completed 16th September 2008

As part of our standard procedures to continually evaluate and improve our interest free energy-efficiency loans offering for our customers we undertook a short review of the processes and procedures used to evaluate loan applications from the spray paint booth and biomass sector.  A number of spray paint booth and biomass manufactures participated in this review and each provided valuable and insightful process improvement contributions.

An outcome of this review is that we are making several changes to the assessment processes. These changes are summarised as:

• Provision of utility bill information to support all loan applications;
• use of standard on-site energy assessment guidance;
• use of standard on-site energy forms by equipment suppliers.

These changes are applicable to all current and future applications.

In addition, future calculations will be based on like for like business activity, i.e. such calculations will not include a projected growth in vehicle throughput or include premises without existing spray-booth or biomass equipment.

We are convinced, through dialogue with customers and equipment suppliers, these changes will ensure the continued success of the loan scheme and appropriate energy savings for our customers.
