Improved Air Treatment

Improving the quality of compressed air can make a real difference to energy efficiency.

  • Always treat the air to the lowest acceptable level.
Although having to remove dirt, water and oil means that the compressor has to work harder, the treatment itself can use energy. Get the suppliers of your machines’ tools to confirm the minimum air quality the equipment needs.
  • If only a few pieces of equipment require high-quality air, consider treating the air at the point of use rather than the whole supply.
  • Change filter elements regularly and have any condensation collection system checked regularly to ensure it’s working effectively.
