A range of different survey types and advice is available, including:
- Energy assessment
- Detailed site survey
- Multiple-site survey
- Implementation support
- CHP advice
- Building design advice
Energy assessment
This survey can be tailored by a Carbon Trust account manager to meet an organisation’s needs through delivery of specific modules, and often includes an estimation of their basic carbon footprint.
For an organisation with minimal energy efficiency experience, measures can address all significant energy uses, or for those with some energy efficiency experience and evidence of implemented energy efficiency measures, effort can focus on a narrow range of energy uses, with more in-depth analysis.
Recommendations will be made once an organisation’s business constraints have been taken in to consideration, and the resulting action plan tailored to reflect their specific business drivers.
Energy management assessment tools are also available to the consultant to help evaluate an organisation’s strengths and weaknesses, compare them against others and introduce sustainable energy improvement practices.
Detailed survey
This survey is a detailed investigation on the feasibility and potential savings from a specific energy saving opportunity, such as replacement of equipment with significant energy consumption – but likely to entail significant capital costs for the organisation. Note that this survey is only part funded by the Carbon Trust.
Multiple-site survey
For organisations with more than five sites and a total energy bill of greater than £150,000/year the Carbon Trust will carry out surveys at a sample of sites in order to obtain an overview of energy saving opportunities that exist across the organisation.
This survey can be tailored by an account manager to meet an organisation’s individual needs through delivery of specific modules, including an estimation of their carbon footprint.
An energy management review performed as part of the survey will identify the strengths and weaknesses of energy management practices and help your organisation deliver savings across your portfolio of operations. As part of the multiple site assessment senior management will be briefed on the findings.
Implementation supportSupport to develop large, capex projects to the point where they can be implemented. Through discussion with your account manager up to 6 modular elements can be used as appropriate. Individual modules focus on:
- Feasibility study
- Business case
- Performance specification
- Supplier identification
- Procurement documentation
- Technical bid assessment
