The Carbon Trust has created a consortium of British businesses to pioneer the development of a world-class, commercially viable process to turn municipal and wood waste into transport biofuel which could lead to carbon savings of 95% compared to fossil fuel. The Carbon Trust is also working with the University of York to research how using microwave technology could turn garden and wood waste into biofuel to power our cars and lorries.
