Eligible companies receive up to £70,000 worth of consulting services from one of our 6 Incubator Partners. We have helped over 100 companies across a broad range of issues, including:
- understanding market opportunities
- finding customers and partners, and assisting in negotiations with them
- developing intellectual property strategies
- meeting product regulations
- providing expert engineering, modelling and product development
- helping to grow management teams
- building the case to attract external investment, and
- making introductions to investors.
We’re proud to say that lots of the companies we have supported are now generating revenue by selling their low carbon products and have since attracted more than £80 million in investment.
Who qualifies?
In order to benefit from our free business incubation services, you must be a UK business that can demonstrate you have:
Carbon reduction
You must show the potential to make major carbon savings – either through energy-saving or low carbon energy generation
Business proposition
You must have a realistic plan to grow your business to deliver your goals
Management team
With people dedicated to the success of your business
Technology or service
A unique technology or service proposition
Applicants may be:
- Individuals
- Small businesses
- Spin-out business from a company or research institute
- Overseas individuals or organisations willing to re-locate to the UK
How to apply
The first step is to choose one of our Incubator partners for an initial discussion. Subject to that discussion, the Incubator partner will work with you to develop your application to the Carbon Trust.
