Electrical Systems 

The OWA Electrical research area is looking at ways to reduce electrical losses within the cable array.

 
 

In Stage 1 the OWA undertook feasibility studies to address key technologies, commercial and regulatory issues with the objective of scoping fully costed projects to be taken forward by the partners. This work has identified the potential for higher voltage arrays to deliver significant cost benefit to the design of future offshore wind farms.
