Strand B of the MEA aimed to engage engineering and manufacturing companies that could play a role in the marine energy industry. We awarded grants of up to £250k to accelerate the development of these enabling technologies. The MEA envisioned new technologies from Strand B reaching the market within 3-5 years, and some concepts developed are already being introduced into full-scale device prototypes currently being installed. Others will become relevant as larger arrays of devices are completed.
Project teams for this strand involved both marine energy experts and organisations from outside the marine energy industry.
