  • Design Advice

We’re able to offer free or subsidised consultancy throughout a project - depending on its size and potential carbon savings.

Note – we are happy to work with you on projects covering more than one building with the same specification to ensure that best practice is built into the project from the start. Our consultant will help you to maximise opportunities for specifying energy efficient plant and fabric.

  • Strategic Design Advice

For major building and renovation projects we can offer strategic advice.

Our aim for this service is to support projects and large buildings in achieving low and zero carbon developments and buildings.  We engage with projects at a pre-design master plan stage and help inform early decisions such as:

    • Site selection
    • Energy strategy
Including sharing energy with neighbours and the use of renewables
    • Architectural and M&E design
Including building orientation, passive design and material selection

Our services have been of great benefit to: Planners, Clients, Local Authorities, Governments, Developers and Architects.  We will work with you to make sure your project is strongly addressing each of these key issues:

    • Scope
    • Business case
    • Delivery team
    • Project management review process (for future applications)

"I am very pleased with the outcome. [Other] reports, while generating useful information left me, as a client, asking what to do next and in a VERY easy position to do nothing…The ‘Strategic’ in the Strategic Design Advice is the key to its success, very precise information to allow a client to clearly plot a direction to proceed with.

Don Grant, Construction Development Director, Future Inns, October 2007.
