Consultants Accreditation Scheme

The threat of climate change means the drive to reduce carbon emissions is now essential for all organisations, as such we continually strive to improve the effectiveness and range of services we offer. The Carbon Trust Accreditation Scheme creates a robust network providing organisations working with the Carbon Trust access to expertise across technical, non-technical, business and change management consultancy.

This independent Accreditation Scheme is a Product-based accreditation scheme that provides accreditation for specific groups of Carbon Trust Products. Specific Accreditation Categories have been defined for each group of Products based on various common requirements in respect of knowledge, skills and experience.

The Scheme comprises four Accreditation Categories representing groups of related Carbon Trust products:
  • Carbon Opportunity Identification
  • Carbon Solution Development
  • Low Carbon Design Advice
  • Carbon Management

It will be managed on behalf of the Carbon Trust Gemserv Ltd, which will undertake all accreditation of consultants for all future activity.

Consultant Mentoring Scheme
The Carbon Trust Consultant Mentoring Scheme is a consultant sourcing initiative aimed at bringing new consultants into the accredited consultant pool. The Mentoring Scheme is designed for consultants who have the required qualifications but currently do not have the necessary experience and/or technical capability to carry out work as an accredited consultant. The scheme uses a mentored approach and 'on the job' training to advance consultants' competencies, skills sets and experiences up to the level required to apply for accreditation.

For further information on the Consultant Mentoring Scheme please download the Consultant Mentoring Scheme Introduction. If you would like to apply to become a mentee unde the Scheme please download the Application Packs documents below.
