The main task of the Finance Assistant is to provide administrative support to the Head of Finance and the Financial Accountant, particularly in respect of inputting data (primarily supplier invoices) into the finance system, but also to assist with any other finance related work. The post holder will also be required to assist with other administrative duties outside the Finance department.

This responsible and exciting role provides operational support to the COO and other Carbon Trust Directors – Chief Economist, Director Business Relations, Director Projects. As well as co-ordinating the COO’s day to day activities the role requires diplomacy and skill for liaising with diverse and influential senior decision makers both in government and in business. The position also offers the opportunity to be heavily involved in International Coordination which is led on a day-to-day basis by the Head of Corporate Development and championed by the CEO, FD and COO.

To take overall leadership of the Carbon Trust IT programme of projects, the programme team and the efficient delivery of business value on all projects to the appropriate levels of quality, time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan, using industry standard project management methodologies.

To maximise the business value from our investment in specific business applications areas across the entire application lifecycle.

Develop and maintain in depth knowledge of the Carbon Trust Business, the interdependencies of the various functions and how the IT systems and data support those functions.

This role is responsible for the commercial and financial management of the Financial Services Delivery Contracts and, with the Loans Supplier Marketing Manager, has responsibility for achieving the team’s annual target for capital value of loan offers made from all channels; currently around £25m and estimated to be circa £50m in 2008/09

This role sits within the Carbon Label Company, reporting directly to the General Manager. The main function of the role is to certify that product carbon footprints submitted by a client to the CLC have been calculated in accordance with BSI PAS 2050, and as such, that the products are eligible to seek a license to use the CLC’s Carbon Reduction Label. If a product fails certification, it is the role of the Carbon Footprint Certifier to provide constructive feedback to allow the client or their appointed consultants to improve the carbon footprint model.
