This report investigates savings that could be achieved through the use of advanced metering in SMEs and reviews its case from the perspective of the site, the energy supplier and the Government.
It finds that widespread use of advanced metering by SMEs can provide cost-effective carbon savings for the UK and significant cost savings for SMEs. The Carbon Trust's field trial has demonstrated the potential benefits, identified key barriers and clarified the action required by the SME community, Government and energy suppliers to accelerate the market.
