15 November 2006
The Carbon Trust today announced the expansion of its Consultant Accreditation Scheme to broaden the range of expertise across its consultant network and improve service delivery to businesses and public sector organisations looking to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

The new Scheme will create a robust network providing organisations working with the Carbon Trust access to expertise across technical, non-technical, business and change management consultancy.

The Accreditation Scheme, effective from March 2007, comprises four Accreditation Categories representing groups of related Carbon Trust products; Carbon Opportunity Identification, Carbon Solution Development, Low Carbon Design Advice and Carbon Management. It will be managed on behalf of the Carbon Trust by Gemserv Ltd, which will undertake all accreditation of consultants for all future activity.

Tim Lancaster, Director of Operations commented: “The threat of climate change means the drive to reduce carbon emissions is now essential for all organisations. The Carbon Trust continually strives to improve the effectiveness and range of services we offer. By expanding our accreditation scheme we are looking to attract the breadth of top consulting talent necessary to help us give the best business advice. The range of services we offer and the diverse organisations we work with need to be supported by a consultant network equipped with expertise in the right areas. We are confident this initiative will help us move forward in the drive to a low carbon economy.”
