The Carbon Trust’s Chief Executive Tom Delay today addressed the TUC Conference on the subject of climate change. He highlighted the pressing need for businesses to take action now to reduce energy wastage and in doing so, cut their carbon emissions and help tackle climate change.

He also outlined the three steps any business should take when looking to cut carbon:

  1. Reduce energy wastage
  2. Look up and down the supply chain for opportunities to reduce carbon
  3. Once you have done all you can on steps 1 and 2, purchase offsets to cover any remaining carbon emissions
