On the 17th January 2008, the Carbon Trust Winter Lecture was delivered in London by Dr Pachauri, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). In 2007 the IPCC shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore for their work on climate change.  David Vincent, Director of Policy at the Carbon Trust, spoke with Dr Pachauri before the lecture, asking him about the recent work of the IPCC.  In an upbeat half-hour interview, Dr Pachauri gave his views on a wide range of climate change issues, including the recent Bali conference and the leadership that he sees the UK and its businesses offering to climate change mitigation around the world.

Dr Pachauri is today arguably the world’s foremost climate change policy advisor. He was elected Chairman of the IPCC in 2002 and is active in several international forums dealing with the subject of climate change and its policy dimensions.
